Leticia Chavez-Paulette, Founder

I have lived in NM most of my life and in Albuquerque for 18 years.  My life experiences have equipped me to serve as Executive Director of A Peaceful Habitation and I have had the wonderful opportunity to serve God in this capacity since 2005. I know first-hand the challenges of addiction, domestic violence and homelessness.  It is my honor and privilege to serve with all other faithful volunteers of A Peaceful Habitation to empower women to fulfill their purpose after incarceration. Phil 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Robert Paulette, Secretary

Bob is a civil consulting engineer and has been working for 47 years to support his real occupational love – giving back to the world.  While being part of the APH board since the beginning and as Secretary, he is also active in Kairos (Christian Prison Ministry) and Wheels for the World (a subset of Joni & Friends.)  He has 2 children and 3 grandchildren and has a step-son with his marriage to Leticia.  He has lived in Albuquerque for almost 25 years and loves outdoor sports and KU basketball.

APH is dear to my heart for the hope that it gives women to transform their lives and make a difference in society. Being able to watch these women grow in their Christian walk and to watch God restore them and their relationships is a true honor. Showing the love of Jesus and helping the women to stay focused on our savior is a huge blessing.

Russ Spicher

Having been in Law Enforcement for 23 years I have seen numerous people sent to prison for their involvement in criminal activity and wondered if these people could return to society as productive members. I have witnessed the APH product, ladies recently released from prison learning to live a Christian life and becoming a shining light in a dark world.  I am looking forward to working the "tail end" of the criminal justice system after so many years for working the "front end".

I've been married to Mary E Spicher for over 22 years, have a blended family with three children, four grand and two great grand kids. Served in the US Air Force as a Security Police officer for nearly 23 years, working both law enforcement and security and Chief of Security Police at three different bases. Served in Vietnam.

I'm an active member of Hoffmantown church, volunteer in the Tech ministry, have served on many mission trips in the US and overseas.
An active member of the NM Shriners and work in the Telemedicine program with the Los Angles Shriners Hospital for
Children.  Serve on the Board of Directors for Albuquerque Metro Crime Stoppers, NM Veterans Memorial Foundation, and now APH.

Shirley Compton

Shirley has lived in NM since 1984. She has three grown children and has been married to John Compton for 17 years. She has been working with justice involved individuals one way or another since she became a Probation/Parole Officer with the State of New Mexico Corrections Department. Shirley has had a passion for aftercare for men and women released from incarcerating facilities. She has served as a chaplain at CCA Women’s Facility in Grants and again when it became a men’s facility. Her desire to continue serving is unquenchable. For that reason, she feels called to support the mission and vision of APH, Inc. Your Reentry Connection. She also feels called to continue to support justice involved women, such as APH, Inc.’s executive director, Leticia and help them to prepare to be released. “To those whom I ministered to while a Chaplain… let them know that they are precious jewels in the sight of God, therefore He locks them up for safe keeping as well as prepare them to grow in His grace and mercy."

The Love of Christ has made me a new person. I have seen my share of darkness in many shapes and forms. I have been broken and hopeless and God sent wonderful people in my life to shed light on the path He had set for me. I have experienced personally and with my family many issues including incarceration, violence, and drug/alcohol addiction. I know depression and anxiety all too well. My goal is to help shine some light for others who are experiencing dark times in their lives. I believe that when we turn our lives and hearts over to Christ, nothing is impossible for God! He makes all things new and He can give beauty for ashes. I know this because I am a walking testimony to that.

Gil Francia

Gil is assisting Pastor at Washed By the Word Church. An overcomer of a meth addiction and street life only by the blood and grace of Jesus Christ. Through all his experiences God has given him a heart for the lost and compassion for our local homeless and justice involved communities. God placed him at Christ United to lead others who struggle with addiction and homelessness. His life has been restored and feels it is imperative to continue giving to others the hope that was given to him.
