A Peaceful Habitation Home & Aftercare Ministry, Inc. is a Christian ministry providing service and support to facilitate successful re-entry back into society. It was created to support and equip recently released women who want to live transformed lives and break patterns of self-defeating or destructive behavior.
The programming of A Peaceful Habitation is unique because it combines caring support and mentoring with educational content, to improve life skills in a context of personal accountability. Christian principles form the substance and intent of the organization, consisting of structured resources and referrals for reintegration support, education, and accountability. Our Support System
At A Peaceful Habitation homes we regard our participants as a family. Every effort is made to best equip the women in their faith. Assistance is provided for her to accomplish life goals that will empower her to successfully reintegrate into her family, community and society. All participants, whether they are currently living in one of the APH, Inc. homes or have fulfilled their commitment, are all welcome to continue participating in all programming and special events provided by APH, Inc. A Peaceful Habitation is supported and funded by several different churches in Bernalillo, Santa Fe and Doña Ana Counties; as well as private foundations and donors. We have been blessed with a cadre of volunteers that support us in every aspect of the organization’s needs. Employment A Peaceful Habitation assists with employability skills preparation; including resume writing and interview preparedness. Assistance or referrals for online job searches and resume printing and submission. Partnerships with local business owners have been developed and referrals are provided to all participants. Physical Needs Assistance in accessing social service needs, i.e. documentation, clothing, hygiene, medical care, counseling, and any other resources needed for family reunification and reintegration to the community. Life Skills Training A Peaceful Habitation provides classes or access to classes for financial budgeting, conflict resolution, computer training, parenting, dressing for success, self-improvement and domestic violence workshops. Housing A Peaceful Habitation, is collaborating with Statewide transitional homes that assist women released into their communities. A Peaceful Habitation will assist participants secure appropriate and affordable housing as needed. Transportation A Peaceful Habitation will provide a free bus pass when available. Resources are available to help research and obtain affordable transportation. Spiritual Growth And Support* A Peaceful Habitation is in collaboration and can provided referrals and resources to churches statewide who welcome women seeking a church home. *Based on availability of chaplain and spiritual counseling. |
