Our Staff
Georgette Vigil, Program ManagerI am a survivor, an overcomer, a Warrior for Jesus. I surrendered completely to God following a
tragic and traumatic accident. I became incarcerated and my children placed with family members in the aftermath of this event. But God had plans other than incarceration for me; God gave me probation instead, with several conditions and requirements, to keep me from getting that dreaded DOC number. I am a single mother of four beautiful children that I adore! As part of getting back on my feet, I studied and trained and became a Certified Peer Support Worker. I have an endorsement to my CPSW certification in supportive housing and also received an AA in business management. I am now using my life experiences to help other women and men overcome their own personal and legal barriers and challenges due to addiction, homelessness, mental illness, and incarceration. Currently I am Program Manager at A Peaceful Habitation! I am completely in my “zone” when helping others get back on their feet. In 2021 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, but God has it in remission! My children and I are members of New Beginnings Church where I have grown deeply in love with Christ. I love serving the under-served and believe God will use me to share my life experiences to encourage, empower, and equip women to reach their potential and purpose. |
Jessica Swift, Administrative AssistantGod has created in me a heart full of compassion and patience. He has molded me into a survivor and a strong woman who wants to help others see God’s Love, Mercy, and Grace. I gave my life to Christ while I was in prison serving a ten-year sentence. I grew up in an unhealthy family and followed them into a life filled with drugs, drinking, and partying. I made many bad decisions without regard to anyone’s wellbeing or the consequences of my actions. After living that life--before inviting God into my life and asking Him for forgiveness--I never thought that there could be a way for me to have a better life. I am excited that God chose to use me to show what He can do in a person’s life. I fully trust that God will never be done with me and my life. He has placed beautiful and Christ centered people in my life who help and encourage me to keep going every day. I have been baptized and am a member of Citizen Church. I am very happy that I can work with A Peaceful Habitation, since it was the source of hope for me when I was released from prison. Through working for A Peaceful Habitation, I pray that I can help many others become survivors and warriors, filled with God’s Love and Forgiveness. Every day that God wakes me, I will do my best to serve Him by helping others reach out and grab the hand He extends to us.
